What would you whisper as a wish for the dawning year?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 01, 2009:
I wish for God to grant me the peace and patience to accept the things that I cannot change this year. I spent far too much time stressing over the things that I had no control over in 2008. This year, I want to simply be able to stand back and accept those things with a great sense of inner peace.

That is an excellent wish! I hope it comes true.
Someone once told me:
“When you pray for patience, does God *Zap* you with a patient heart? Or does he give you opportunities to practice patience?” It always stuck with me… makes me look at things a little differently.
